DPA Studio reveals the design for a Sports Complex for Ananda College Rugby Grounds.

It is time to unveil our design for the new sports complex and pavilions for the Ananda College Rugby grounds in Rajagiriya. The project aims at becoming an icon to the school and in its context, enhanced by its dramatic folding plate roof structure. The venue will host not only sporting events, but also outdoor events like concerts.

The scheme consists of 5 main elements, the main pavilion, the secondary pavilion, outdoor basketball court with an open spectator seating, multipurpose hall with service areas, and mobile food outlets. Further, the main pavilion houses facilities for badminton, squash and other indoor games, VIP pavilion and lounges, cafeteria, office spaces alongside state-of-the-art gymnasium, ice-bath and other related facilities. The two pavilions are designed to host a crowd of around 1000.

It is a proud occasion for our principal architect Damith Premathilake, to have an opportunity to serve his alma mater.
